Well, to be fair this is a bit of a wank from sigma. They already know the hardware limitations of the two cameras. That dude could have easily said: "6K or Open Gate are impossible with the fp's hardware, but certain user features may still be feasible." Then, sure, a request list could be generated with your other suggestions. I'd add: Recording in RAW whilst in Director's Finder mode.

Great set-up! Looking for other ways to rig up my Sony FX30 because the top handle can be a little flimsy.

I've sometimes wondered whether these lenses would suit a certain style of stills photography? I saw a Sigma challenge a while back where they challenged a couple of pros to use lenses in their range, and that range included a couple of the Cinema lenses that Sigma produce. Ever since then I've kind of been curious about it...

I have a question for you all regarding these cine lenses. On the 35mm I have no issue pulling focus, but on the 50mm I notice because of the lens moving slightly causes air to push against any circular filter on the end. The result is a popping sound / movement against the filter. It is incredibly annoying. I emailed 7artisans about it, no response for 2 weeks. I understand that a matte box and everything is designed for cinema... but I have seen people pulling focus on these with circular filters on them... including myself with the 35.. Does anyone else have this issue, am I missing something obvious here?

What do you all think about the vision cine lenses? Would you consider purchasing the set?

Hi thanks for clarifying the confusion. Great video. Can you please guide me. I think SIGMA fp is a nice camera but I want to shoot a documentary with it. And I have a Sony AX33.The Sony is the best camera that I have used but it has very poor low light performance and a small sensor. Otherwise it's a great camera for run and gun shooting. I want to create a rig with the SIGMA fp that can mimic the characteristics of the Sony AX33. I think that the SIGMA fp is basically a 35mm sensor that looks like a camera. They have purposely kept it customisable because they expect you to make a rig and not use the camera straight to get a Professional Cinematic footage for delivery to a place like NETFLIX. Please guide me.

Gyro data is hands down the biggest request by many FP owners. Sigma just doesn't care anymore though :) It's their pet project.

I love this camera but an fpii with native 4k sensor cfexpress b for internal 4k would be amazing.

Also, 10-Bit color modes. Yes, would love that.

Really want to get this camera but the heavier processing (sharpening and noise reduction) which the older cameras didn't have S5/S1/S1H has kind of swayed me away. That and the poor hdmi latency + not being able to punch in while recording. The AF is really good and Prores RAW/BM RAW looks great out of it.

I once had a DP2M and the colors and sharpness were absolutely stunning. Too bad the camera was slow as hell. I'd love to see a full frame mirrorless foveon camera from Sigma. Fuji is great with their recipes. Sigma should have something comparable, but with LUT support and maybe some additions like AI grain. Maybe a cooperation with Dehancer could bring something like that to the consumers.

How would these hold up to an x-pro 1?

Great camera. I use it for run n gun travel videos. Stabilization is perfect. I shoot everything exclusively handheld, I don't carry any stabilizers or a tripod with me. I combined my S5IIx into a rig with Blackmagic VideoAssist and SmallRig V-mount batteries. A real small cinema camera. BRAW is wonderful to work with in DaVinci.

For my travel videos, the Sigma 24-70mm F2.8 lives on the S5IIX, and the Lumix 70-300mm is always ready in the bag. I think those two lenses are quite enough for 99% of the work.
